You know, I really hate it when books open up with really weak lines.  I think that that first line can define the rest of the book.  I'm not sure if I have any favorites, though.  Maybe "Novalee Nation was seventeen, seven months pregnant and thirty seven pounds over weight."  First that tells you three things about the character you're going to ( Read more... )
